Safety

When you build or operate a DIY kart (including models presented on this website), you are putting yourself at risks. Those risks include (but not limited to) accidents which might lead to damages, injuries or death!

It is up to you to minimize that risk:

  • Read safety manuals when using power tools.
  • Be familiar with local laws and regulations.
  • Drive responsibly.
  • Know the limitations of your machine.
  • Use helmet and protective gear when operating a Go Kart.
  • Catch loose hair or cloth when operating mechanism with open chains or transmissions.

Accidents with injuries do occur when building or using DIY kart:

  • Power tools can cause horrific injuries when building a kart.
  • Rollovers as a result of drivetrain wreckage or non-responsible driving.
  • Disconnected parts can strike drivers, passengers and surrounding people.
  • Unshroud chains can catch hair.

Building and using a Go Kart is fun, but comes with a lot of responsibility!
